Saturday, August 2 

Downhill Points Race #1

This race will open up a weekend of Downhill racing action at Pomerelle Resort. Saturday’s race will feature a 1-Run competition that will count for full series points. This race wil run down the newer of the 2 Pomerelle courses. The race features an incredible start through a field of wildflowers and then a twisting, high-speed descent through the forest. This course is challenging but less technical than Sunday’s trail.

Day #1 Start Times

Racing begins at 1:30 p.m. with Cat 2 and 3's on course first. Please be at the start gate early, if you miss your seeded start time, you may not get a timed run. Start times will be set and posted Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at the base of the chair lift. You should be loading on the lift no later than 40 minutes prior to your official start time. Racers will go at 1-minute intervals.

Sunday, August 3

Downhill Points Race #2

Great racing action continues as Pomerelle Resort hosts a second downhill race! This race will descend the classic course that made downhill racing so popular at Pomerelle. Cat 3 racers will descend a less technical course, while more experienced riders will be challenged by faster, but much tougher lines. Sunday’s race will be a 2-runner with racer’s best run determining the final placing. This race will also award full series points to top 10 finishers.

Day #2 Start Times

Downhill Racing begins at 10:30 a.m. with Cat 2 and 3's on course first. Pros and Cat 1's will start shortly after the completion of the Cat 3's. Please be at the start gate early. If you miss your seeded start time you will not get a timed run. You should be loading on the lift no later than 40 minutes prior to your official start time. The race will be a 2-run format (your best run counts and you’re only required to take one run). Individual start times for Sunday’s downhill will be posted at 9:00 a.m. at the base of the chair lift.

Practice & Lift Ride Information

Both downhill courses will be ready for inspection from Saturday morningon. LiftfeesareNOTincludedinyourentryfee. Youmust purchase a lift pass for each day you plan on riding the lift. Lift rates are $20 per day. A “Race Weekend Special” rate, for both Saturday and Sunday, of $25 will be available to racers. This is a very special weekend at Pomerelle since the lift at will be running on Friday, Aug. 1 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m and a special Friday, Saturday, Sunday lift pass will cost just $30.

Parking/Camping Information

Plentiful parking is available at the Resort Base and you can camp in the spacious resort parking lot The Pomerelle Mountain Grill will be open serving great breakfast and lunch on Saturday and Sunday. It’s about 20 miles to the nearest lodging so plan on making it a camp-out-weekend! There are Forest Service campsites nearby, but the parking lot at Pomerelle is really a great place for either tents or self-contained RV’s. Please make sure you’re aware of any open-fire restrictionsandplanonpackingoutallthatyoupackin. Justexpect to have a great time camping with your friends, arch rivals, etcPomerelle’s Web site has a link to local lodging options.


The Day #1 Award Ceremony will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and the Day #2 Award Ceremony will take place a.s.a.p. after the completion of racing on Sunday afternoon. Both Award Ceremonies will take place on the lawn at the base of the chair lift. Medals will be presented to the top 3 finishers in each Cat/Class. All racers have a chance to win some great prizes via raffles during each ceremony. Pros can expect a cash purse for the Mens & Women’s classes.

Early registration fee for entries on-line at Go-Ride .com, or by mail postmarked by Saturday, July 26, 2014 is $48 per race, or the 2-race discounted fee is $68. Each day’s downhill limited to the first 140 entrants

Add $5.00 for on-site registration (cash or check only).

Please don't mail your entries in late, you can still sign up at Pomerelle for Day 1 as late as Saturday morning until 10:30 a.m., and for Day 2 until 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. NO Sunday Reg, pre-reg. packet pickup on Sunday morning from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m.

On-site registration at Pomerelle on Friday, Aug. 1 from to 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 2 from 9 a.m. ‘til 12:30 p.m. (Race # 1 reg. closes at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday) and again on Saturday afternoon from 5 to 5:30 p.m. On-site registration is $53 per race, or the 2-race discount is $73

New this yearCat 2 and 3 riders must purchase a 1-day license USAC for each day they plan on racing. 1-day licences are $10 per day and can be purchased at on-site registration at Pomerelle during the above listed times.
